Shannon Blakeman is a partner with the firm. Prior to joining Jeffrey Carbo Landscape Architects, Shannon worked in North Carolina where he gained experience in park, commercial, institutional, and municipal projects. During his 17 years of practice, he has developed a broad knowledge base, ranging from detail design to large scale site and master planning. His knowledge brings a well-rounded approach to the design process, providing thoughtful design solutions.
In his role as Project Manager, Shannon provides team leadership throughout the design process, fostering positive client relationships, developing conceptual themes, and ensuring quality implementation. In addition, he facilitates efficient and effective communication between workgroups, clients and multi-disciplinary team members. Shannon leads the Baton Rouge office, allowing the firm to expand their services and accessibility within the Gulf South region. His responsibilities also include business development for private and public sector clients, and has enabled CARBO to expand its services into the New Orleans area market.
Shannon graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University. He is a Registered Landscape Architect in the State of Louisiana, and a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Shannon has been an active member in the local chapter for a number of years, serving on the Executive Committee six years and as Chapter President for one term.
Shannon has collaborated on several award-winning projects, including the Cane River Community Master Plan in Natchitoches, LA, which received a Louisiana Chapter/ ASLA Honor Award. He also worked on the Perkins Library Plaza in Durham, NC and The Cedars Retirement Community in Chapel Hill, NC while with Lappas + Havener, PA, both of which received North Carolina Chapter ASLA Merit Awards. Currently, Shannon is the project manager for the Orange Riverfront Boardwalk and Pavilion in Orange, Texas and the Bolton Avenue Corridor Enhancement in Alexandria, Louisiana, as well as multiple municipal, commercial, and residential projects throughout the region.
